Waking up feeling purposeless is incredibly frustrating. You look around and maybe feel like you are not living a passionate, engaged, meaningful life. Maybe you are longing for deeper relationships, a rewarding job and a sense of direction that compels you to hop out of bed each morning with a spring in your step. The Lord has something in store for all of us! He wants us to be happy in everything that we do in our lives. All it takes, is a willingness in our hearts and to have faith in Jesus Christ. In Psalm 63:7, David said, "For you have been my help, and in the shadows of your wings I will sing for joy." Let us take a moment and thank the Lord for loving us for who we are. Are you ready to change your life for the better? Just ask the Lord to come first in your life, starting today. He is waiting at your door. It is up to you to open it...
David Baker-60 Years old David was staying at a motel in Rogers Arkansas. Even though he gets a disability check, he could no longer pay for his room. The Rogers police department took him to Russellville Hospital. Russellville Hospital then took him to U.A.M.S. They in turn took him to Baptist Hospital. Baptist Hospital dropped him off at the Little Rock Compassion Center where he will be working with our Case Manager to find housing. In the meantime, even though the compassion Center is not a Medical facility, we work with many people who have Medical issues to find housing. So many little towns in state do not have housing for the poor. This is an ongoing issue, that is an everyday occurrence. They feel lost and unwanted, until the get here. We never forget though, that they are still a child of God.
When you are going thru your day, and life's stress hits, remember what you have, and what Jesus has done for you in your life. Today, ask yourself what is important? Ask who is important to you, and pray for that person. When you hear other people crying out, due to their job, or their relationships, or what they wish they had, tell them about Jesus. And at the end of your day, thank Jesus for what he has done in your life. Thank Jesus and rejoice. "Rejoice in the Lord always; Again I will say, Rejoice. Let your kindness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with gratitude, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:4-7
We have been working hard getting the new women's center updated and ready to open. We have updated the top portion of the building to be able to house women and their children more comfortably. We have also added additional office space and we are re-constructing the restroom and shower facilities. With faith and trust in the Lord, we are hoping to have a part of the building in use by next month. "not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interests of others." - Philippians 2:4
"Trials are but human, for God is faithful. For He will not allow you more than you can bear. But with those trials he will provide you with a way out, so that you may be able to bear it." -1st Corinthians 10:13 Before Audrey came to The Compassion Center, she had been through a lot. Audrey had become a victim of identity fraud and the culprit had emptied out her bank account. The rent was due, and she was unable to pay amongst her other bills. Ms. Alexander found herself on the street. Fortunately, the Lord guided Audrey to The Little Rock Compassion Center. After arrival, she was able to join the savings program and gain control of her finances. Ms. Alexander is now on the right path to getting back on her feet thanks to her faith in Jesus Christ. The Little Rock Compassion Center has many programs available to people who are struggling with homelessness. With your donation of only 16.90/mo. you will be helping someone like Audrey regain their lives back. All it takes, is a little faith.

Harold Mayfield Harold is 67 years old and has been homeless for the last two to three years. Before he became homeless, he worked mainly at temporary day labor jobs, because he does not have any special skills or trained in any trade. Because of the pandemic, he hasn't been able to work. Harold also has several medical problems such as clogged arteries which makes it hard for him to get around. He has a walker which is a big assistance for him. Harold has been visiting the Compassion Center for a while now and comments on how well he likes the services here. He says: "I am treated like a human being, and I feel like life does matter once again." LRCC is fully funded by generous people who care for people like Harold.
Homeless shelter nears completion The Little Rock Compassion Center has nearly completed its renovation of the former Arkansas Forestry Commission headquarters into a space for homeless women and children, the shelter announced last week. The center purchased the building, which is located on West Roosevelt Road, from the state in 2019. Once the former offices are converted into sleeping areas, bathrooms are expanded and a dining hall is constructed, it should accommodate at least 75 women and children, according to a news release. The Rev. William Holloway, the center's founder, said in the release that the 14,000-square-foot facility should be open by late fall. Once open, it will allow the center's original location on Asher Avenue to provide more space for men.
