Jefferson County Mediation Services Honors Clexton
Gary Clexton’s pro bono services in dispute resolution have not gone unnoticed! In August, Jefferson County Mediation Services recognized Gary as “Workplace Mediator of the Year” for his work mediating disputes for the county. Clexton has mediated dozens of disputes for the program since he began working with it in 2006.

Clexton Panel on Elder Mediation Popular with Neutrals
LADR Attorney-Neutral Gary Clexton joined a 4-person panel on mediation involving elder participants at Jefferson County Mediation Services last month. The continuing education panel on probate and estate dispute was popular because disputes involving elderly people are increasingly coming before the court – and thus often forwarded to County Mediation Services for resolution. “I enjoy working with families, especially those with elderly members, because I like helping people move past a dispute with more cooperation and good will than going before a judge may allow them,” Clexton explained. “In our panel, I described how mediators can accommodate the needs of older adults in a dispute resolution setting and allow them to control the outcome.”
