Thank you for visiting my photography profile! I am Austin Freed, a 30 something female with a full-time career during the day but my passions are my husband, dogs (babies as I call them), reading, and most recently photography.
Here is a little bit about how my love of photography started. I bought a new Nikon D7100 DSLR camera around the summer of 2014. It was a camera and lens kit but I was excited and started experimenting by taking pictures of my 4 black labs. Yes, my husband and I have 4 black labs… :) My goal was to get some good action pics of them when they were running around the yard, chasing their frisbee and other toys, as well as playing in their pool. If you have checked out my gallery page I am sure you can see I have taken quite a few pics of them over the last 8 months!
After getting the most out of the kit lenses that I could, I started talking to a family member that has the same camera and looked into getting other premium lenses. The biggest break came for me when a workshop became available through a local photographer on how to shoot in manual mode with your camera. I signed up after being notified of it and haven’t looked back yet!
Now I believe I am ready to continue to expand my photography interest! That is where this website comes into play. As spring approaches and the world turns green I will be taking more nature and landscape pictures to share on the website. I also have begged and pleaded with some friends and family to allow me to take some pictures of them!
Future plans include photographing people’s pets, my dogs are my children and I love being able to capture their spirit on film. Also, I love nature so will have my camera with me whenever possible to capture those beautiful Mother Nature pics. I do not see myself taking posed pictures but I love candid photos in comfortable situations so you may also see some of those added to my gallery. Lastly, I love taking action photos, whether they are of pets, animals, or people. I can’t wait until I get to take photos of my best friend shooting her bow and arrow! Look for those in my gallery in the future…
You may be wondering about the inspiration behind “Living a Thousand Lives Photography” – that originated from my love of reading. I feel like I have lived numerous lives from all the different books I have ready over the years and photography gives me the same feeling. It allows you to forget about the things going on in your life for a few minutes or longer every day and get wrapped up in the images seen through the viewfinder.
If you are interested in any of my photos or having a session done with your family and/or pet(s) please see my Contact page.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website and look through the gallery.
Sincerely,
Austin Freed
