March 17, 2020
The worldwide pandemic known as COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has caused all of us to pause and consider our policies and procedures. Since the mid 1980’s, dentistry has been on the forefront of disease prevention by adopting universal precautions (masks, gloves and glasses) practicing hand hygiene, sterilizing all of our instruments, providing high level surface disinfection and using disposables where appropriate.
We have a fiduciary responsibility to keep both our patients and our team safe. Yesterday the President asked businesses to close for the next 15 days. Last night we received a communication from the American Dental Association (attached) to perform emergency care only for the next 3 weeks.
For these reasons, I am suspending all elective treatment (cleanings, fillings, crown seats, Invisalign visits, etc.) until Monday April 6, 2020.
We will see emergencies (broken tooth, swelling, pain, lost or broken temporary crown) Monday-Friday from 8am-1pm by appointment only. We ask that you call our office first at (770) 425-4001 instead of walking in.
Our business office will be open Monday-Friday from 8am-1pm also. Please come in only if necessary. HOWEVER, if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, fatigue, coughing, sneezing or respiratory distress we ask you to stay away until cleared by your Doctor, for the safety of others.
I’m aware that this causes inconvenience for you and for that I’m sorry. Our plan is to open on April 6th and have extra days available to you so that you may be seen for your routine dental care.
In the meantime, be safe, be smart and God bless you all!
Michael H Mulkey, DMD
Looking forward to seeing our patients tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day! Be sure to wear green! We will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
