Important Iowa Department of Revenue tax deadline for estimate payments: The IDR did not extend the due date for estimate income tax payments. The 3rd quarter estimate is still due September 30, 2020.
Income Tax Returns for 2019: Taxpayers who have paid 90% or more of the correct tax on or before the due date of the 2019 income tax return (April 30, 2020), automatically have an additional six months (October 30, 2020) to file and pay any additional tax due with no penalty, although interest does continue to accrue.
Additionally, Order 2020-01 that was signed by the IDR Director in March, 2020 changed the deadline for filing certain income tax returns to January 31, 2021. However, to avoid additional interest that may be accruing, it is highly recommended to complete your 2019 Iowa tax return now. Please contact us to discuss your options for contactless completion of your return via email at info@lhatax.com, via our website www.lhatax.com or via telephone at 319-373-1591. Thank you.

As we prepare for the upcoming tax season we have a very cool option available to get your tax documents to us!
We have a secure portal site that is very user-friendly. A user can upload tax documents through this portal. And there is no need to have a scanner! There are scanner apps that are built within Apple phones or you can use Google Drive App and tap the scan button to upload documents to the portal.
You may also message the tax preparer, sign the tax return documents, issue payment for the invoice and download a digital copy of the tax return.
If you would like to explore this option, give us a call at 319-373-1591 or email us at info@lhatax.com and we can get you started.
