The Lyndon LEGO Robotics team, Let Go My LEGO, has been working since the first day of school this year to prepare for the FIRST LEGO League Georgia Regional Competition. The team learned to program LEGO robots to complete various autonomous missions, come up with an innovation project to follow the theme of getting kids active, and learned 2 very important terms “Coopertition” and “Gracious Professionalism.” Both of these words are the foundation of all FLL events. “Coopertition” is a term FIRST coined meaning to compete while being cooperative. Gracious Professionalism is another FIRST term that means when competing, you are working as a team for the overall good of all involved. An example of this would be when at a competition, another team’s robot stops working. In order to show gracious professionalism, another team would help the team get back in the game rather than just saying that is one less team to compete against. This has really taught the team to be team players! The team competes virtually on Jan. 29th.
