People are pushed to the IRS website to check on the status of their stimulus checks. I was with a client today and gave her a hand and was shocked what popped up. Here is the exact wording when you click the status site: “Use of this system constitutes content to monitoring, interception, recording, reading, copying, or capturing by authorized personnel of all activities. There is no right to privacy in this system. Unauthorized use of this system is prohibited and subject to civil penalties, including all penalties applicable to willful unauthorized access or inspection of taxpayer records......”. Does anyone else seem to think this is a huge overreach of your rights just to find out where your stimulus is. Doesn’t say anything that once you are off the system that they wil stop. And no right to privacy. As I’ve told everybody whose called, the checks are not coming out all at once. It will be over a period of time. Some checks may not go out till August. Be patient, they will come. Have a blessed week everyone.
Here’s some good news from the IRS. Those on Social Security will start to receive their stimulus checks this week. Not all are going out at once but you should start to receive them over the next few of weeks.
Please beware: Scammers, pretending to be from the IRS, are calling to verify your bank account number so your $1200 check can be deposited. This is fake. The IRS has not announced when these checks will begin to go out so please do not give any information over the phone. The IRS will never call.

The IRS announced they will begin accepting tax returns on February 12th, 2021. Start collecting your data now. We will be taking appointments as soon as you have your forms and get the returns finished so we can file as soon as we can.
Good news. With the late change in tax law the IRS has extended the due date for tax returns to May 15th.
