This week, Mr. Mike Zipske, Turner general superintendent for the Orlando International South Terminal project recognized Mader Safety Manager Brady Proctor for his excellence in safety leadership. Turner is managing the construction of the landside terminal in a joint venture with Kiewit construction. For more than a year, as a part of Mader’s field management team, Brady has successfully supported our company’s efforts to keep all workers on the project free from harm. Joint venture Safety Manager, Mr. Steven Reece recently wrote: “It is a joy to work alongside an individual that looks at safety as Brady does. Mader should be proud of the work he is doing, the relationships he is making and the lives he is changing through education of policy and regulations. I believe he assists in making Mader synonymous with safety. Well done Brady! We are proud to have you as a member of the Mader family.
A JOB WELL DONE! Mader Legend Richard “Pappy” Dana and his crew headed back to Kate’s Clubhouse to put some finishing touches on the deck that built earlier this summer. Team Mader got to work and added some decorative guardrails to the deck and stairs. Kate’s Clubhouse is associated with Dave’s House, an extraordinary organization that provides housing and support programs for people dealing with the challenges of serious mental illness. Mader has been a strong supporter of the Dave’s House program for years. Outstanding work to Pappy and his team.
TRAINING DAY! Mader Safety Director Timothy Bernardi spent a GREAT afternoon working with four exceptional young men who are part of Dave's House. Dave’s House is a Central Florida organization that provides foundational assistance for adults managing a serious mental illness. Tim coordinated the session with Employment Programs manager David Kerst of Aspire Health. The group went through some basic first aid training -- hoping it will help the guys find employment opportunities. David dropped Tim a nice email later that day: "The guys all agreed that it was very worth their while in talking to them on the way home. They were asking me when we will be getting together again. We were all very pleased with how the day went."
SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS! It’s that time of year. And once again, Mader Southeast has been recognized by the Central Florida Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors for exceptional achievements in construction. This year Mader went five for five – winning coveted Eagle awards in both the interior finishes and exterior finishes categories. Included in our 2020 award winners are Disney’s Gran Destino Tower (top left), Disney’s Riviera Resort (top right) as well as (bottom left to right) Universal Orlando’s Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Disney’s Skyliner stations and the Security First building in Ormond Beach. New spaces update! Check out the new deck at Aspire Health’s Kate’s Place Clubhouse. Mader Southeast Construction donated the design, materials, and labor to make this new space a reality for our Dave’s House residents and Aspire Health’s transitional supportive housing residents. Thanks to this donation, the clubhouse will have the opportunity to expand meeting and program classes to the beautiful outdoor garden. Aspire Health’s Carolyn Kreuzpaintner, Supervisor for Kate’s Place Clubhouse and Dave’s House homes, and Ellen O’Connor, Dave’s House Executive Director, spotlight the new construction donated by Mader Southeast Construction. Special thanks to Mader Southeast’s Safety Director Tim Bernardi and General Superintendent Ted Sivard, who oversaw the development and execution of the project.

ALL HANDS WERE ON DECK! Our legendary foreman Richard “Pappy” Dana led a Mader Southeast crew down to the Kate’s Clubhouse and they got to work! The clubhouse is associated with Dave’s House, an extraordinary organization that provides housing and support programs for people dealing with the challenges of severe mental illness. Mader has been a strong supporter of the Dave’s House program for years. Mader CEO/President Adam Eckelbarger and Safety Director Tim Bernardi have been members of the organization’s board of directors. “We are so grateful for the generous work from Mader Southeast,” said Ellen O’Connor, Dave’s House Director. She reports that the deck will be a focal point for the gardening program. Well done Pappy Squad and Team Mader.
MADER IS HELPING DAVE’S HOUSE TO GET GROWING! Now more than ever, Central Florida’s non-profit organizations require support for their efforts. For years, Mader has provided support for multiple charitable efforts around Central Florida. Among those worthy organizations is Dave’s House, a non-profit charity that provides supportive housing for individuals managing a serious mental illness. Recently Mader’s field team has completed projects at Kate’s Clubhouse – the social center for the Dave’s House community. In addition to completing a beautiful wooden deck, Mader carpenters led by foreman Richard “Pappy” Dana recently finished work on a set of incredible garden planters. These remarkable elevated soil beds will allow Dave’s House residents to tend to vegetables and flower gardens. In addition to building the planters, one Mader worker’s spouse has stepped in to provide instruction to the residents on how to properly plant and maintain the gardens. Nice job Mader! Way to GROW!

MADER IS BIRD WATCHING! It’s that time of year again. Judging tours have begun for the Central Florida Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) ‘Excellence in Construction Awards. Last year Mader projects collected four of the coveted EIC Eagle Awards. This year our team is looking for another four. The first Mader project the judges visited was the Jaleo restaurant at Disney Springs. Senior Project Manager Jeff Henderson and Foreman Jacob Sivard toured the judges around the beautiful Jaleo for almost an hour and a half. In 2018, the same team of Henderson and Sivard we awarded two Eagles for their work on the Wine Bar George restaurant, which is also at Disney Springs. Good luck gentlemen! And thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Eight years ago today, We christened our new Offices located on Landstreet Road and the party went on well into the evening and great time was had by everyone that came. Mader looks forward to the days that we can host parties again at our office.
