At the end of hospitalization, patients are often discharged to other facilities where additional rehabilitation can be provided. Many Maimonides patients are admitted to the sub-acute Rehabilitation Services of Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Center, while some receive therapy at home through Home Health Agencies or are referred to outpatient rehabilitation facilities. Maimonides owns and operates its own outpatient rehab center for the purpose of providing a further continuum of rehab services to its inpatients and to residents of Brooklyn. As with inpatient rehab services, the Center is multi-disciplinary and provides specialized physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, and on-site treatment by Board Certified physiatrists. It treats pediatric through geriatric patients and accepts all insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare.
