Coronavirus Patient Update / Mall of Georgia Dentistry
March 15, 2020
Dear Patients, Friends and Family,
As members of your local community, we care deeply about the health and well being of our patients, families and staff members. The Coronavirus and the changing pandemic present a unique set of challenges for dental care providers like Mall of Georgia Dentistry. We wanted to let you know that we are taking additional safety precautions to reduce the risk of transmission to all. We will not be closing our offices unless ordered to do so by the Federal, State or local government. We realize that some of these health precautions may cause a temporary inconvenience, but please be assured your health and the health of other community members is our priority.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please call the office during regular business hours. If you would like to delay your appointment, we completely understand and ask that you call us to reschedule. Please consider rescheduling also if you fall into a high risk group (immunocompromised, have heart disease, lung disease, are over the age of 60, have diabetes, or have travelled outside the US in the past 2 weeks).
1. At Your Appointment Time: TEXT us at 678-866-1191 or Call us at 678-714-6343 (Buford) or 678-318-3191 (Ham Mill) to let us know you are outside. We will let you know as soon as your room is sterilized and ready.
2. Krispy Kreme donuts, coffee and water will still be available behind the counter. Please ask and we will get you one.
3. Pens will NOT be available on the counter, if you need one, please ask, and we will get you a new or freshly disinfected pen
4. Due to the closure of schools, parents will be challenged with childcare limitations. At Mall of Georgia Dentistry we have encouraged an open environment and have always welcomed siblings, friends, and relatives. Starting next week, we will be making changes and essentially closing our reception area. No non-patient friends or family should enter the office except for the accompanying parent or guardian. If you have multiple children, feel free to drop the patient off and wait in the car until the appointment is finished. We can call and update you on the progress of treatment by request.
5. Only scheduled patients will be allowed back in the treatment area unless there are specific issues, such as a childs' young age, or behavior.
6. Our patient sign in computer will be disconnected. Please CALL, TEXT or verbally sign in with the front desk upon your arrival. We have removed the magazines, games, coffee machine and (most sadly) Krispy Kreme Donuts, but they are still available upon request!!
7. We are trying to minimize those procedures that cause excess aerosol (saliva being sprayed in the air). This may include cavitron and prophy-jet cleanings. We will be able to modify most appointments to progress through treatment, and we understand that this may delay some patients' treatment for a few weeks. But again the big picture is to try to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus.
Thank you for your understanding in this unprecedented time. Know that we are just as concerned about our patients well being as we are our own families!
Sincerely,
Brian D. Vancil DMD & MOGD team

"The nicest staff I've ever experienced in a medical office. Dr. Vancil was funny and enabled me to feel relaxed my entire visit. They were extremely thorough and informative about all my options. I highly recommend giving them a try!"
Thanks Jonn! And thanks to all our wonderful patients!
It's a good idea to throw your toothbrush away or the toothbrush of anyone in your home that gets a cold or flu. Any other toothbrushes that may have come into contact with the contaminated toothbrush should also be tossed.
