Manassas Christian School is a private, non-denominational elementary and middle School situated on 11-acres in Manassas, Virginia. The 25,000 sq. ft. facility has 18 classrooms, a gymnasium, library, computer, science, and foreign language labs, a VEX Robotics room, and music room. The outdoor campus features creative playgrounds, nature trails, soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court, covered pavilion and pool. Excellence in language and literacy is the focus of our program. A phonics based reading program is utilized in the early grades, enhanced by a literature based program in the upper grades. Math is explored through a hands-on approach to number concept, problem solving, computation, and estimation. Social Studies is presented in a theme-based format with projects, research and community exploration forming the basis for the students' activities. The science program is founded on the scientific method in which concepts are investigated through predictions, hypotheses, and testing. The MCS Vex Robotics Team has achieved national status and has competed in worldwide completions with students from China, New Zealand and Canada. Specialty classes in Spanish, music, art, physical education and computer round out the curriculum, and provide for the cultural, technical, and physical development of our students. MCS competes with area public and private middle schools in boys and girl's soccer, basketball, volleyball, and coed baseball. School Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Extended Care hours: 6:30 am - 8:30 am & 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm Transportation is provided to and from Cougar, Pennington, and Signal Hill Elementary for the convenience of families in the public school district. Extended Care students are provided a nourishing breakfast and afternoon snack. After school clubs and sports meet from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Winter, Spring and Summer Camp offered as well.
