Older teens and college students are at an increased risk for contracting meningitis. Meningitis can be caused by viruses, bacteria or fungus, but bacterial forms of meningitis, especially group B bacteria, are the most fatal. We recommend the 2 dose meningococcal B vaccine for all teens aged 16+, especially if they are planning to live on campus when they go to college! This vaccine is 100% covered by the state of CT for all teenagers under 19 years old. Schedule your teens pre-college physical and vaccine today!
