This northernmost Manhattan neighborhood is known for tree-lined streets and the Cloisters, as well a thriving arts and Dominican ex-pat community. It’s also become an extremely safe and vibrant place to live, with the development of Dyckman Avenue as an Uptown entertainment district, chock full of hip restaurants and lounges. Also, contrary to popular belief, Broadway sensation Lin-Manuel Miranda grew up here – and not “in The Heights.”
