Lost sense of smell (Anosmia) may be an early symptom of Coronavirus Infection. I have noticed an unusually high number of patients in the last two weeks complaining of Anosmia.
Anecdotal evidence is rapidly accumulating from sites around the world that Anosmia is a significant symptom associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. There is data coming from numerous countries supporting this finding. The American Academy of Otolarygology is proposing that these symptoms be added to the list of screening tools for possible COVID-19 infection.
