Dr. Keyvan Shahverdi, DC, LAc, is a chiropractor and acupuncturist practicing at Maple Chiropractic & Acupuncture Clinic, located in Fairfax, Virginia.
A graduate of Texas Chiropractic College, Dr. Shahverdi holds a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine. Certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Dr. Shahvedi is also certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. His training in multiple disciplines allows him to offer a unique perspective on treatment for musculoskeletal conditions like chronic pain. Unlike conventional medical training, where the focus is on symptom management and the use of medications, Dr. Shahverdi's training allows him to look for the root cause of a problem and provide treatment that heals the body. Pain often has more than one cause, and it is not until each cause is dealt with that the patient obtains relief. By choosing Dr. Shahverdi, patients can receive multiple types of care in one setting instead of traveling to different practitioners for services like acupuncture, massage, and physical medicine.
Much of Dr. Shahverdi's work involves teaching patients about their bodies and how to help them heal through better posture, exercise, nutrition, and stress management. Although chiropractors are sometimes thought of as treating only the back, misalignment throughout the body can cause pain. Since the spine and extremities are interconnected and function together, misalignments in one area can create problems in another. The nerves that run off the spinal cord also affect the body organs so that misalignments can cause other problems in addition to pain.
Patients often comment on Dr. Shahverdi's compassionate manner and warm, friendly, genuinely caring interactions. Using skeletal and muscle charts and models, he can explain exactly what is happening inside the body and how treatment may help. He is bilingual in English and Farsi and offers a free initial consultation. Please contact our office or book an appointment for more information today.
