Marchena Translations provides translating services to and from English and Spanish, and from French to English. It was founded by Claudia Marchena, who was born and raised in Colombia, South America. After graduating from a bilingual high school in Bogotá, Colombia, Marchena came to the United States to improve her spoken English at the Evans Institute in Los Angeles, California, where she completed studies in conversational English. Two years later, Marchena attended Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in French literature and graduated summa cum laude. In 1991, she was the first non-U.S. citizen to be the recipient of a scholarship at l’Institut Catholique in Paris, France. In 1993, Marchena earned her Master’s degree in Multilingual Education and Linguistics from Florida State University where she graduated cum laude. Furthermore, Marchena has been a Certified Litigation Paralegal since 2003 and she is a member of the Florida Bar in good standing and a voting member of the American Translators Association.
