Dr. Marcia Hogeling is board-certified in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology.
Dr. Hogeling earned her medical degree from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. She completed her Pediatric Residency at McMaster University where she served as Chief resident. She completed her Dermatology training at the University of Ottawa and UCSF. She subsequently completed her Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship at University of California, San Francisco.
She treats all pediatric dermatology conditions with particular interest in infantile hemangiomas, birthmarks, acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, connective tissue disease, alopecia areata, and vitiligo. She performs pediatric laser procedures and skin surgery procedures in children.
She is a member of the vascular birthmarks team at UCLA that has a monthly specialized clinic.
Her research interests include infantile hemangiomas, vascular malformations and psoriasis. Her publications include the first randomized controlled trial of propranolol for infantile hemangiomas and a textbook on inpatient pediatric dermatology.
Dr. Hogeling is a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies.
She teaches medical students and residents at UCLA, and sees pediatric patients at the Santa Monica location.
