On October 5, take time to celebrate World Teachers’ Day! Almost everybody has a favorite teacher, someone who went above and beyond to encourage you because they could see your potential. Just as Matilda had Ms. Honey, Harry had Dumbledore, and Cady had Ms. Norbury, remembering your favorite teacher is who encouraged you and helped you learn and grow is something to celebrate. Considering that teachers mold future generations, taking one day every year to say “thank you” is the least we can do. No matter where you are in the world today, remember that teachers matter!
Christmas is almost right around the corner. How many are using Amazon to purchase their gifts? Did you know that.... Amazon Prime Day will soon be underway. National Today News has a team of researchers following the deals as they happen. Track the latest Amazon Prime Day Deals as part of our round-the-clock coverage. Sometimes, Christmas does come in July. At least holiday season sales do. With its annual Prime Day, Amazon — the seventh largest retailer in the world — has marked out the middle of the year as its own, personal, mega-shopping holiday, this year on October 5. Amazon Prime Day has grown into a holiday to rival Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the U.S. Amazon Prime Day is now the biggest single day of shopping in the U.S. with more than 100 million products sold during 2018’s Prime Day. It’s also growing in terms of length having steadily gone from 24 hours of savings, to 30 hours, then 36 hours, and now a full 48 hours of epic deals. Leave it to Amazon to figure out how to double the hours in a day!
Consider National Taco Day, October 4 every year, a concentrated and intensified version of the “Taco Tuesdays.” t On National Taco Day, we only need to grab some tortillas and stuff them with savory fillings, from the traditional cheese, tomato, lettuce and sour cream, to more exotic delights like fish, chorizo, even tongue, to name only a few of the “meat component” alternatives. How about stuffing your taco with frosting and sprinkles to make it a fun and exciting day to celebrate!
This October 4, celebrate National Golf Lovers Day by recognizing one of the world’s most popular sports. Exhilarating, thrilling and embarrassing, joyous and depressing! What could it be? There is no activity on Earth that encompasses the full emotional spectrum like golf — and that’s why we love it! Hit the links and play a round as you enjoy a few competitive and friendly laughs with your fellow golfers.
As we are going into the fall season, I just wanted to take a moment to say "Thank You" for being so patient with our store. Thank you for your trust, for your support, for your smiles (under all the masks!). Thank you for showing us how we can go on in the midst of a difficult time for so many. During the challenges we are facing, I have been very grateful for the many loyal customers who continue to bear with us as we are repairing our store. We are hoping to be ready in just a few more weeks. (We are just as anxious as you are!) Margie
The first Friday of October is World Smile Day (October 2), a relatively new holiday with a fascinating story. Created by a commercial artist named Harvey Ball, this day came about as a response to his creation of the smiley face. Harvey worried that the commercialization of the symbol would lessen its impact. This symbol has been used in many different ways including clothing, comic books, coffee mugs, pins, and more. These little yellow faces are more than just a symbol, they’re a statement about the power of smiling.
I would like to say "thank you" to everyone who have been so patient for our store to open up. Hopefully, it will be within the next week or so. We are close. I will post the day on Facebook, and there will be a large sign in the front window of the store. Thanks again for understanding. I really do miss all of you in the store walking around!!! (It will also be easier for us to let you get the items you need) 😊😊😊
