With the Winter Solstice just around the corner, it is time to start preparing for dangerous winter weather. We will be bringing you winter safety tips from the National Weather Service, every other Wednesday during this season.
We are expecting freezing rain in the Baltimore area this afternoon and evening. Compared to a typical snowstorm, freezing rain is much more hazardous — especially on the road. While both are dangerous, it’s far easier to lose control of your vehicle on icy pavement, not to mention the increased risk of falling branches and powerlines.
Bottom line: do not drive if there is, or recently was, freezing rain.

Ice storms can easily break tree branches, so trim weak or damaged branches around your home, and don’t park your car under trees. And after you’ve parked, don’t leave your wipers raised...contrary to popular belief, doing so increases the chance of wiper damage.

Our new "Hybrid Ready Room" was completed this week and is the perfect space to host up to 15 attendees in-person and connect them to a group of virtual attendees. The room is equipped with two cameras, one that automatically tracks the speaker and another focused on participants. Balanced audio allows participants and instructor to be heard clearly, with versatility to adjust audio levels as needed. Bring your own laptop or rent one from us, and use your favorite platform!

Late Winter and early Spring can bring heavy rain and snow, which can result in flooding.
