Dr. Bazalgette was born and educated in England, where he completed medical school at St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School at the University of London. In 1983, Dr. Bazalgette emigrated to the United States and finished his general surgery residency at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Bazalgette went on to complete a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery under the world-famous Stanley Goldberg, M.D., and his associates at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Bazalgette took over a prominent Greenbrae, California, colorectal surgery practice in Marin County. Dr. Bazalgette has performed major colon surgery for 20 years, but he recently limited his practice to proctology and colonoscopy. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Bazalgette performs approximately 600 colonoscopies, 500 flexible sigmoidoscopies, and 250 proctology operations each year.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Bazalgette is one of the founding physicians of the Endoscopy Center of Marin near Marin General Hospital, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. He is board-certified in both colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and he is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
