Karen started her career at Martin Downs Animal Hospital in April 2018. She started in our kennel/bathing department and worked her way up to the medical side as a veterinary assistant.
Her special interests include Herpatology (Reptiles).
In her spare time Karen enjoys reading and walking dogs.
Karen does volunteer work for Carine Fields Felines.

Jarek started his career at Martin Downs Animal Hospital in December 2014. He is originally from Poland.
He received a MS degree in Animal Science and is a Certified Technician in Poland.
His special interests include Dentistry and Surgery in fact, if you have ever brought in your furry friend in to have a procedure done you have more than likely met Jarek! He is such an asset to the hospital and we are so thankful he is a part of our team!
He has 2 pets including: Bohun – Caucasian Shepherd Radek – Tibeten Terrier

Veterinarian Spotlight: Dr. Melissa Navarro
Dr. Melissa Navarro studied at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada. After 3 memorable years on the island she returned to Florida to complete her clinical year at the University of Florida. After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree Dr. Navarro completed a small animal internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa. There she worked as an emergency veterinarian as well as alongside multiple specialists which allowed her to expand her experience and knowledge base of veterinary medicine. She has a special interest in small animal internal medicine and loves interacting with clients and their pets. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves to try new foods, watch movies, listen to music, and enjoys the beach. She currently has two young finches but hopes to soon add a 4-legged fur baby to her home.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, we are not going to be hosting our annual pet photos with Santa this year. We know a lot of people enjoy and look forward to this event and we are hoping we can continue it next year.
Even though Santa won't be coming, we WILL be taking holiday photos for all of our boarders/daycare dogs starting after Thanksgiving. We are going to be putting our backdrop together soon and we can't wait to share those with you!

CHANGES TO OUR GROOMERS' SCHEDULES:
Moving forward in 2021, there will be a change to our groomers' schedules/availability.
Elke will be grooming Mondays through Fridays.
Jessica will be grooming Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
We strongly suggest you schedule your pet's grooming appointments in advance. We appreciate all that entrust our awesome groomers with their pet's grooming needs and we want to accommodate as many appointments as we can.
