We know that choosing an orthodontist is a very personal decision. There are many orthodontic offices and treatment options available to you. Here are just a few details about our office that describes “What Sets Us Apart”:
Free initial exam. Dr. Martinez does not want to set up any barriers to exploring your orthodontic options. Our initial exam is free and includes photographs and diagnostic X-ray(s). We do this because we know your time is valuable! Our goal is for you to leave your first appointment with a full appreciation of your orthodontic treatment options including fees, payment plans, and insurance considerations. Please see the What Happens on Your First Visit video to learn more. Contact us at any time to set up an appointment to see if orthodontic treatment is right for you.
Doctor Martinez is an Orthodontic Specialist. While many dental professionals provide orthodontic care, Dr. Martinez has obtained specialty training and limits his practice to orthodontic care. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. Therefore, Dr. Martinez focuses 100% of his energy on staying at the leading edge of orthodontic treatment.
Leading Edge Technology. The vast majority of orthodontic specialists are capable of providing competent orthodontic care. Dr. Martinez sets himself apart through extensive continuing educationto provide a wider variety of orthodontic options than most other practices. Dr. Martinez's leading edge orthodontic techniques can make your treatment easier, faster, more efficient, or more esthetic to meet your needs and desires. Please see our leading edge technology link also.
Meticulous Sterilization. Our patients are not just members of the community. Many of our patients are our friends, relatives, staff members, and members of our immediate family. You can be assured that we follow all of the OSHA guidelines for sterilization techniques and will never cut any corners. In fact, our office was the subject of a routine, surprise inspection by the Ohio State Dental Board in October 2006 and no violations were found whatsoever.
Superior Customer Service. Because orthodontics is generally a process that can take from several months to several years, Dr. Martinez realizes that providing a high level of customer service is extremely important. While, everyone pays lip service to customer service, you'll quickly realize that we actually mean it! When you call our office for the first time, odds are you'll speak to Carolyn or Laura. After you spend a few moments with them on the phone I am certain you'll agree that we are committed to providing a superior customer service experience. If you are not impressed, please call Dr. Martinez directly on his cell phone at 513-300-0500.
One Orthodontist – One Office Location. We have one office location and one orthodontist. You can count on Dr. Martinez to give you his personal attention at every appointment!
Retention System. Retention is an ugly word in orthodontics. It's our little secret that teeth can crowd up again after the braces are removed. Most orthodontists provide 2 retainers (one for the upper teeth and one for the lower teeth) at the completion of treatment. Many times these retainers are very bulky and uncomfortable to wear and teeth can relapse quickly after the braces are removed if these bulky retainers are not worn full time. To combat this problem Dr. Martinez instead provides 4 retainers (2 sets). The first set is glued to the back surfaces of the front teeth the SAME DAY the braces are removed to prevent shifting of the front teeth. These retainers are very small and comfortable…but because these retainers are glued in, they cannot be removed or forgotten so the teeth will stay straight! The second set is removable but is worn just to bed at night to minimize the impact on the patient. See our retention link for more information.
Relaxing Office Environment. Dr. Martinez remodeled the office within the last several years to provide a comfortable and relaxing experience to our patients AND their parents. We refer to our reception area as the "Living Room" to reflect its comfortable and homey atmosphere.
Enhanced WEB Services. Through our WEB services, our patients have the option to receive e-mail appointment reminders, check their appointment times on-line, and review their account information. This WEB service is available 24/7, and is a convenient way for our patients to stay connected to our office from home.
Gum chewing. You or your teenagers will be delighted to hear that as of June 2006, we now allow our patients to chew gum! Our only restriction is that the gum have the new Xylitol sweetener. Xylitol is a special sweetener that has been shown to prevent cavities. Therefore, even though you may have an occasional loose bracket, Dr. Martinez feels that the benefits of this new gum outweigh the downsides. Xylitol-flavored gum is available at most supermarkets and convenience stores today.
