Farm Bureau Insurance began selling property and casualty policies in Tennessee in 1948. Farming was a more dangerous occupation than it is now, and many insurance companies were unwilling to insure farm structures. Now we have offices in more Tennessee communities than any other insurance company. There is at least one in every county. The Tennessee Farm Bureau is the nation's largest state Farm Bureau organization, with more than 655,000 member families. The success of the insurance operations in Tennessee helps drive that figure. Farm Bureau Insurance covers one in four people in Tennessee.
