We want to thank everyone for participating in our August promotion! Nelsonville-York Schools received the most votes for the $2500 donation! We would also like to thank Ohio Mutual Insurance Group for partnering with us to maximize this donation. Mathews Insurance has decided to present a new challenge (but a fun one!!!)
We know 2020 and COVID-19 brought many challenges and obstacles. Some were lucky enough to maintain their jobs or keep their doors open and some struggled to stay afloat. The amazing and special thing about Athens and our surrounding communities is that we do our best to lift each other up in times of need.
In light of the new year 2021, we are challenging you to continue supporting our community in any way you can by issuing this challenge! Every month of 2021 we will announce an organization we are donating to. The challenge is for you to donate to this organization or any organization of your choice, post about your donation on Facebook using the hashtag #MathewsDonationChallenge, and like our Facebook page. We will then enter you into a drawing at the end of the year for a gift basket FULL of local goodies!
This month is Good Works, Inc. Timothy House! Did you know that Good Works has an Urgent Needs List on their website? We took to the store to grab some of their urgent needs and was quickly reminded how just simple everyday items can really add up in cost. Although the below picture of items may not look like much, it is actually a couple hundred dollars worth of supplies. Any little bit helps, even if you just grab a couple boxes of trash bags to drop off! I am sure Good Works and The Timothy House will appreciate anything you have to give.

Our agents, Alysia Brooks and Mallory Swaim just dropped off over 50 tubes of toothpaste to Athens Dental Depot's toothpaste drive for Athens City School District Food Pantry. We hope this is a good start to their drive! Stop out and drop off a family size tube of toothpaste and Dental Depot will match that donation with toothpaste or toothbrushes!
Mathews Insurance had a fun day partnering with Mac's Thrifty Store picking up these amazing items from local businesses to support the Athens County Children Service 2020 Santa Tree Project!
