Matt Gavin, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the knee and shoulder. Dr. Gavin treats sports medicine injuries as well as arthritic conditions. He also has worked with professional athletes, including the New York Knicks, World Cup soccer teams, professional tennis players, and Marine Corps Marathon runners. At his practice in Leesburg, Virginia, Dr. Gavin treats patients with a wide range of sports injuries as well treating people with arthritis and in need of joint replacement. He also has a satellite office in Stone Springs / Dulles that is open by appointment only.
After graduating from Georgetown University Medical School, Dr. Gavin went on to complete his residency training in orthopedics at Georgetown University Hospital, also located in Washington, D.C. His training continued with a knee and shoulder fellowship at the prestigious Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York City. Then, Dr. Gavin was awarded a unique opportunity to study the latest medical techniques in fracture fixation with a trauma fellowship in Switzerland.
Dr. Gavin returned to Washington, D.C., to practice at the Anderson Clinic for three years before relocating to Loudoun County. Dr. Gavin offers a friendly but professional approach to medicine, making sure every patient gets the time and attention they need.
