Cold weather is here. Be sure to disconnect hoses from the outside faucets. Leaving hoses connected will not allow the water to drain out and can cause freeze damage.
Laundry drain tip: If you have trouble with your laundry drain clogging trying switching to liquid detergent. The powder doesn't always dissolve completely then coats the drain pipe causing a restriction then back-up.
Time to test those backflow preventers! If you have an irrigation system Illinois EPA requires the backflow preventer to be tested EVERY year. Call me 618-624-1173 to schedule your test, I will forward your report to the proper water authority. Anita
