Countertops, floors, appliances, windows…everything in your kitchen contributes to the overall style of the room. Chief among these are your cabinets. The type of cabinets that you install in your kitchen shouldn’t be overlooked, but choosing the right one can seem overwhelming. In general, there are two main types of cabinets that you’ll have to decide on and that we at MC Granite provide: framed and frameless. Here’s everything you need to know about them: https://buff.ly/2FFbrfh

Q. How often do I need to reseal my countertops? A. Natural stone is porous and needs to be sealed on an annual basis. The best way to prevent stains, water spots, and things of that nature is to apply a protective sealant. The sealer can be easily applied by the homeowner, and the process does not take long at all. If you purchased your stone at MC Granite Countertops, we will apply the initial coat of sealer for your countertops, but it is still highly recommended that you re-apply the sealer once every year.
Fancy cleaners aren’t necessary for maintaining your countertops. In fact, many common household cleaners, like Windex, can be harmful to granite surfaces. Soap/mild detergent and water work just fine and are best for keeping your cleaning routine hassle-free.
Q. Can I put hot dishes directly on my granite countertops? A. Technically, yes. Granite is a natural stone that is extremely resilient and resistant to heat damage. However, for the best care of your kitchen countertops, we still highly recommend using trivets or some sort of mat under hot dishes or cookware.
