WHO SAID MILLENNIALS CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT?
The divorce rate in the U.S. is dropping. And it is dropping mostly because of Millennials! A study at the University of Maryland (go Terps!) has demonstrated that divorces in the 18-34 age group has declined to about 12%. The over 45 age group is divorcing at a rate of about 26%!
What are the divorce-protective factors? You are less likely to get divorced if at the time of marriage you are age 30 or more; White or Hispanic; have a Bachelor's degree or higher education; it is your first marriage; and you do not have your own children.
The study also determined that less people are getting married, but those that are getting married have more divorce-protective factors! Take that Baby Boomers!
