Crown Point Firefighters responded to smoke in a building at Burger King in the 1100 block of N Main Street at 5:50 PM this evening. A small outside fire was found smoldering and quickly extinguished. There were no injuries or damage to the building.

These families were selected through the Crown Point school system and will be the beneficiaries of all non-perishable donations throughout the month of December. Monetary donations can also be made by calling the Mayor’s Office of Special Events at 219-662-3290.
We are proud to be able to use our position in the community to help those around us and would like to encourage you to do the same.

Does anyone remember when we posted about Jacobs bad haircut experience? That post went viral reaching over 2 million people. A lot of people could relate, for some it raised awareness and was a lesson and some disagreed. I didn’t expect it to get so much attention. It was just an experience he had that we felt was important to share. Today Jacob went for his haircut to his new fav. place, McFly's Gentlemen Shop LLC. They don’t fall over themselves to pay attention to him or talk to me and not him. He walks in, they treat him like I see them treat every customer, saying hello and asking what he wants. When he’s done they say bye and we walk out. It’s something we all expect but when you have had a bad experience you anticipate that happening again. Twice he has been there, two different barbers, two positive experiences. Just treating him like everyone else. It’s much appreciated! Thank you. Check them out, the customers do look fly when they leave and so does Jacob !!

I still am not comfortable going anywhere - still numb regarding bowel and bladder - wearing gym shorts to accomodate the catheter collection bag. But y'all know I like to keep my hair short and my last barber appointment was mid-September. 😳😳😳 I hated looking in the mirror. Today my barber actually came to me. On his day off, in this snow. Amazing. Thank you Jordan Cox. I look and feel soo much better. It was great catching up. just took my 2 year old to scottie he did an amazing job with keeping him calm and his cut came out wonderful. also the other guys were right there for the assistance when he would drop his toy or just a "good job" or "your doing great". also taught me how to style it. very chill environment. told me to never say sorry for a kid crying (even though he only cried once, then they were buds) but the resurance always makes a momma happy! tipped not just for the haircut but the all around experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
