5 PM radar update. Line of storms with damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and deadly lightning now crossing Lake Michigan and will be from Grand Haven to South Haven between 615 and 630 PM.

Precipitation will develop across the area Tuesday evening after dark. Initially the precipitation will be mainly snow in most areas, but it will transition to a wintry mix through the course of the night for areas near and south of Interstate 96. The precipitation will change to rain south of Interstate 96 on Wednesday. 2 to 6 inches of snow are possible across Central Lower Michigan. Southern Lower Michigan may see a light glaze of ice. Stay tuned to the latest forecasts on Tuesday.

12:44 PM Thur Dec 10: A storm system will spread rain and snow into West Michigan late tomorrow through Saturday evening. Locations like Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing will see mostly rain with this system, and just a little snow Saturday. Locations north of a line from Muskegon to Alma are looking at mostly snow, with potential to see more than 6 inches of wet, heavy-weight accumulation. Those in Central and Northern Lower Michigan should be prepared for travel difficulties, and the potential to lose power Saturday as gusty winds accompany the snow. We will provide updates as this storm system approaches.
