Our Aloft Tallahassee Downtown recently restarted their foster dog adoption program in partnership with Leon County Humane Society, successfully matching Shelby, an adorable 2-year-old long-haired dachshund mix, with her fur-ever home! It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and valued colleague, Phil Bryant. Phil passed on October 10th after his hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a fighter till the end and was surrounded with love by his family and close friends.
Phil had been a respected and treasured member of our McKibbon family since 2003, where he worked with us through 2005 before returning in 2014. Always willing to lend a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or simply just a warm, welcoming smile, Phil meant so much to so many of us over the years and his loss will be deeply felt throughout our entire company. Our thoughts and prayers are with Phil’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Love Your Community isn’t just of our guiding principles, it’s our commitment to getting involved and giving back to the many places we call home. To help provide safe shelter for Charlotte’s homeless and most vulnerable neighbors, the McKibbon Family Foundation has partnered with Roof Above (formerly the Urban Ministry Center & Men’s Shelter of Charlotte) and other community organizations to help purchase and convert an old Quality Inn hotel into permanent housing. The property will be used to shelter women and children through the winter months before its full-scale renovation and reintroduction as an 88-unit permanent housing complex next summer. #McKibbonMoments #LoveYourCommunity

Following a one-year hiatus, Aloft Asheville Downtown's foster dog adoption program in partnership with Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue has returned! The hotel is currently fostering Rosie, an adorable five-year-old female Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler with a sweet temperament, who upon her adoption will become the 225th dog the hotel has successfully connected with a permanent, loving home and fur-ever family. #McKibbonMoments

2020 McKibbon Hospitality Year In Review
There’s nothing like kicking off a new year with a new hotel opening! Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore, the latest addition to our management portfolio and the first Hyatt House in the Tampa Bay area, is set to open in the coming weeks and we couldn’t be more excited. The team has been hard at work finalizing construction and putting the finishing touches on the space, including the work of several local Tampa Bay artists, which will be on display throughout the hotel.
