We opened Medford Music House in 1975 as a local mom and pop business that would bring music to our community. We began with lessons and sales, expanding to rentals and repairs as our business grew. We have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful families who became like members of our personal family.
Our first location was in the original first school house built in Medford on the corner of Peconic Ave. and Route 112. It was quite small but quaint. Many residents came in for a cup of coffee and conversation. We served over one hundred students per week at that time. We later moved to Olympic Ave and Route 112 where we had two studios and our son began teaching with us. In 1990 a much larger store located on Route 112 and Southaven Ave became available and we moved once again. We sold lots of gift items, CD’s, posters and tee shirts together with sheet music and instruments.
We remained at that location for twenty-two years until we decided to move to a home base business two years ago. All our students came home with us and we continue to sell, rent and repair instruments as well.
