HAPPY NURSES WEEK!!!
"The worth of a soldier is never known in times of peace."
Nurses have a very special calling in the care of patients. We are so grateful for all of the nurses caring for those who are ill at this time! Thanks to all of our nurses!!!!
In particular, we want to recognize and thank the nurses at Medical Arts Surgical Group and Anderson Regional Medical Center for their dedication to patients during this time. We could not do this without you.
Medical Arts Surgical Group continues to remain open and provide patient care during this time. We are taking extra precautions to disinfect and keep our patients safe.
Please take the following precautions before you visit:
1. If you feel ill, especially fever, cough and upper respiratory illness (flu-like symptoms), please call to speak with one of our nurses before you visit.
2. Please limit visitors to one per patient.
Congratulations Dr. Matt Coker
Dr. Coker just returned from Philadelphia, PA where he received a passing score on his General Surgery Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Coker on this noteworthy accomplishment!!! We are so blessed to have him here in our group!
October is Breast Caner Awareness Month
Breast cancer is one type of cancer that can be detected and treated in its early stages. As surgeons, we have seen the benefit of this early detection and treatment, allowing smaller surgery and improved outcomes. Unfortunately, we also sometimes see the advanced breast cancers that may have been caught much earlier with screening mammogram. Ladies, please make sure you talk to your doctor about when to get your first screening mammogram. Don't wait until its too late!
Sepsis Awareness Month
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that can be caused by a variety of infections as they spread in the body. Prompt identification and treatment of infection by a qualified physician is essential. A team of physicians is commonly involved to care for patients in order to ensure the best outcomes. As surgeons, our responsibility is to remove any source of infection that is present, and provide support to other physicians in the critical care setting to ensure that critically ill patients have what they need to fight for their lives. Sepsis is a serious problem, but we are here to help by whatever means is necessary.
