B: The Individual performs work that is outside the usual course fo the hiring entity's business.

The Orangevale Food Bank exists to help families in the Orangevale-Fair Oaks area that are food insecure. It was founded by volunteers in the community in order to help the hundreds of families that struggle to meet their basic food needs.
Since the start of COVID-19, the demand for food in the area has nearly doubled, and they are working diligently to ensure that they can meet those needs and provide aid to as many people as possible.
But they can only do so through your generous donations; you can donate through the link here: https://bit.ly/DonatetoOrangevale
Elk Grove Food Bank has numerous programs to help those in need, like an emergency feeding program, senior mobile distribution programs, and home delivery for those unable to get food on their own. They service over 6,000 individuals every month in the Elk Grove area alone, all of whom may have gone hungry without direct intervention.
They have been growing more and more every year since 1974, and it’s all because of the generous help and donations from across the community.

Over a period of just one year, Sacramento Food Bank distributed over 28 million pounds of groceries to the Sacramento area. That means that over 100,000 kids were able to receive food with school support, along with bringing food to the tens of thousands of others in need.
Through its 40 years of service, Sacramento Food Bank has partnered with dozens of agencies to create a distribution network throughout under-served areas to continue their mission of providing aid to anyone who might need it, wherever they may be in the community.
Still, over 215,000 Sacramento residents are food insecure, and need your help.

St. Vincent de Paul’s goal is to provide services and programs in order to prevent hunger throughout the community. They do this by offering food lockers for clients to shop within their own marketplace, delivering groceries to homes with families in need, and serving hot, prepared meals to those who need them.
In just Roseville alone they serve hundreds of people every week, and you can help further their goals by donating here: https://bit.ly/DonatetoSVdP
For over 50 years, Placer Food Bank has been serving the community by helping to ensure that tens of thousands of people every month don't go hungry. Before Covid-19, Placer Food Bank was providing 92,000 meals every month, but now they’ve seen a 25% increase in demand for food across the county.
There are over 94,000 individuals in Placer, El Dorado, and Nevada Counties who don’t know where they will find their next meal. Since its inception, Placer Food Bank has been fighting hunger and working hard so that those individuals can feel more and more secure every day.

As we introduce the food banks we've partnered with, it's only fitting to start with the newest organization that has joined the Lawyers vs Hunger campaign!
Over 1 in 4 people in the Silicon Valley and the Bay Area are at risk of hunger every day. However, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is poised to tackle this problem, and already helps 1 in 10 people throughout the area.
This year has certainly brought on a lot of new challenges for people, and you can help the thousands at risk throughout the Bay Area with just a small donation.
