I am sharing this story with the permission of Emily's moms. She has been a patient of mine for several years and has played softball for me for a couple years. This morning I get a text during church saying she took a ball to the face. She was warming up a pitcher without a mask which is something we coaches allow too often. She turned her head for just a second, and when she turned back the next thing she knew she has a fractured maxilla and two displaced teeth in the roof of her mouth. With the help of Dr. Ross Martin at Oral and Maxillofacial Associates her teeth are repositioned, splinted, and hopefully going to be fully functional in 6-8 weeks. Parents/coaches this happens way more frequently than you think. Please urge/make your kids use their protective equipment. Miss Emily is very fortunate she isn't dealing with a life altering head or facial injury.

Happy Veterans Day to all of our armed services men and women! Very thankful for your years of service. We also want to honor our very own Dr. Anthony Boon who got his start in dentistry through his service in the US NAVY.
Spent 3 full days back to in person but socially distanced continuing Ed. Always great to learn ways to practice better dentistry!
