About

Where most therapists are taught to look at therapy through normal and abnormal psychology, a social worker is taught to look at what the client wants and how to find solutions to improve the client's life from where it is today, with less concern for diagnosis and labels.

Melissa Fisher Goldman, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working as a social worker since 2004 and providing private psychotherapy since 2008. Her primary work as a social worker has been in Hospice Care with an expertise in end-of-life care as well as bereavement and grief and loss counseling. Call today in Yorba Linda and surrounding.

❤ It occurred to Pooh and Piglet that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats and coats and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood to Eeyore's stick house. Inside the house was Eeyore. "Hello Eeyore," said Pooh. "Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet," said Eeyore, in a Glum Sounding Voice. "We just thought we'd check in on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay." Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time hanging out with someone who is Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All, would you now." Pooh looked at Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house. Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?" "We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling Sad, or Alone, or Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are." "Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better. Because Pooh and Piglet were There. No more; no less. (Characters by A.A. Milne, E.H. Shepard, story by Kathryn Wallace for her blog, "I Know, I Need to Stop Talking.")💕

This mama is raising with love and best intentions. That’s how we have the best chance at success as parents. There is no handbook for parenting. I also highly recommend the book Untamed by Glennon Doyle she quotes. I’m halfway through and I’ve been quoting it all over town. I want my kids to like what they like and be whoever and whatever they want to be in this world. Untamed by assigning gender to colors, jobs, clothes, toys, etc. Imagine if we lived in a world where we lived every act and breathe with kindness and celebrated differences. Oh how that could help mental health. Oh how I want to live in that world. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎💗☮️ SCARYMOMMY.COM Why I Let My Son Get The Sparkly Shoes From Walmart

Today is my sweet courageous cousin’s birthday. She would have been 22 today and I’m guessing way too cool to hang with me as she was cooler than me at age ten! She has been gone more years than she lived which feels unfair. However I’m so grateful for the time we had and what I learned from her. Her illness, watching her in the last hour of her life, having the honor of explaining she had died to her little brother and then living with him and his family in the months to follow being up close and personal with their grief story then and now. It all made me a better grief counselor and shaped how I help people today. I will be eternally grateful and love and miss her all my days. . . . . . . . #griefandloss #griefsucks #griefsupport #griefjourney #griefcounseling #grieftherapy #youarenotalone #askforhelp #talkaboutdeath #deathanddying #braintumorawareness #forever10 #imhonoredtohelpyou #mygriefstory
