Another great weekend in Islamorada 🌴 full of lobster hunting 🦞(#lobsterwanheda) and fishing 🎣 . Both of these activities are much harder than they look - especially when you also have to remember to apply zinc every hour. I definitely deserved to be featured on @influencersinthewild or on @kookoftheday several times 🤦🏼♀️. Thankfully, I’ve had a very patient teacher, @zeher_n, who didn’t even get mad when I accidentally threw a lobster overboard. The Nose & Sinus Institute surgery team and I wrapped up a great week with a #rhinoplasty! This beautiful young woman wanted to improve the appearance of her nose and also address her breathing issues. She underwent a #TotalNoseApproach™️ procedure, which addressed all of her concerns ✅
This particular patient had a boxy nasal tip (see the 2nd photo, which shows this). A boxy nasal tip makes the tip of your nose look too large, especially on frontal and base views of the nose. It generally doesn't cause breathing issues, but can be addressed at the same time as surgery done to correct functional issues (as this patient had done). Appropriate correction of the boxy tip, as well as the dorsal hump, gave this patient's nose a much more refined, natural appearance! 💯

I had the privilege of operating on this amazing young woman today who initially presented with both aesthetic and functional concerns about her nose 👃🏻. She had a #deviatedseptum and collapse of her nasal valves that significantly affected her breathing (see the 2nd photo for an additional view demonstrating these issues). In addition, she is a #transgender woman who wanted a softer, more feminine nose that looked more harmonious with the rest of her facial features. She underwent a #TotalNoseApproach procedure that addressed her functional and cosmetic nasal issues 💯. It was a challenging case - making the nose smaller *without* compromising its function is not always an easy task. Nonetheless, it was a fun (for me! 😉) and very rewarding case - even though her nose is very swollen in the photo, you can already see how much better she will be able to breath! I'm looking forward to taking off her cast next week! 🤩
