Expanding our residents' palates – one pumpkin at a time! Sweet and savory pumpkin recipes were on the menu at yesterday’s Fork and Knife cooking demo. Dietitians Christine Hansen and Lela Niemetz, along with virtual intern Katie Wilson, prepared a pumpkin sage “cream” sauce and fettuccine with mini brown sugar cinnamon frosted pumpkin chai cupcakes for a sweet endnote. Residents were surprised how delicious pumpkins could be without being in a pie!

Yesterday was a wee bit nippy but that didn’t stop resident Lynne's family and friends from making sure she turned 90 years young in style! Drive-up parade? Check. Tiaras and balloons? Check. Song, cake and lots of love? Priceless.
