MEET YOUR EVANGELINE CHAMBER BOARD MEMBERS
Renee Brown, Mercy Regional Medical Center
Renee Brown is the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Mercy Regional Medical Center. She has been a chamber member for the last 18 years and served as president in 2015 and 2016. Since her return to Ville Platte 25 years ago, Renee has worked in banking, public relations, sales, and marketing. She held positions at American Security Bank and Citizen’s Bank, was a legal assistant, and owned and operated “The Cock’s Tail” restaurant.
In 2018, Renee became the Executive Director of the Evangeline Parish Tourist Commission and the Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce. She led the board of directors in its effort to create a unified parish-wide chamber, known as the Evangeline Chamber of Commerce. Soon after, through the direction of the board, Renee worked to align strategic resources, educational programs, and economic opportunities to grow existing business and support workforce in Evangeline Parish. She has served on-and-off as a chamber board member and is currently the vice president – president elect. She was a past nominee for “Woman of the Year,” was named “Business Person of the Year” in 2012, and was awarded “Business of the Year” by the chamber members.
It has been her mission to make Evangeline Parish a great place to live and work. Renee is a dedicated community advocate and an activist who shares her time and talents with local non-profit groups. She is a member of the Cotton Festival Board and is the Director of the Cotton Pickers, a former member of the LA Tournoi Ladies Auxiliary, an event coordinator with Prairie Heritage’s La Grande Hoorah, a former president and board member of the La Smoked Meat Festival, a member of the V.P. Rotary and a Paul Harris fellow contributor, a Cabot CAP member, the President of the Evangeline Arts Council, and the Co-founder of Revitalize Downtown Ville Platte.
Renee is married to Kevin Brown and has 3 children (Jennifer, Josh, & Jace) and 2 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, fishing, snow skiing, spending time at her camp in Toledo Bend, cooking, cocktails, and entertaining family and friends.
