Born and raised in Kansas, Dr. Barnthouse earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kansas. He went on to serve as chief resident during his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and was honored with the J. Milton Singleton Award for research and education. Dr. Barnthouse opened his private practice in 1984 and has been providing women of all ages with obstetrics and gynecology services for over 30 years.
With a longstanding reputation for excellence in women’s health care, Dr. Barnthouse offers gynecologic and surgical procedures to address a variety of concerns. His specialized training in bioidentical hormone treatment for menopause, gynecology, and procedures to restore sexual wellness provides women with a full range of services. He believes every patient deserves personalized care and always calls with lab or test results.
Dr. Barnthouse is a member of several professional organizations and has presented numerous research papers to the Kansas City Gynecological Society. He’s also served as OB/GYN department chair at Baptist Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Medical Center and maintains medical staff privileges at St. Joseph’s Medical Center and St. Luke’s East Surgery Center.
When he’s not with patients, Dr. Barnthouse loves being outdoors and spending time with his wife and five children.
