About Dr. Hickey
Dr. Hickey is the Director of the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction. He received his undergraduate degree, a BS in Psychology, from Georgetown University. Dr. Hickey received his medical degree in 1984 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. From 1984 to 1988, he returned to Georgetown University Medical Center, where he served as an intern and resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During this time, he earned the Resident Research Award.
From 1988 to 1990, he performed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at theUniversity of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Hickey served as President of the National Society of Reproductive Endocrinology Fellowsfor the 1989 to 1990 term. Dr. Hickey is certified by and is an active fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Hickey is married and a father of three. When he is not at the office, you can find him on his sailboat.

The Hinsdale Center for Reproduction (HCR) is a private practice located on the campus of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. Dr. Michael Hickey founded the Center in 1991and for the past two decades, HCR has been providing families with advanced fertility care in a warm, personal environment.

They have a comprehensive on-site embryo laboratory, providing service at the highest level including IVF, ICSI, laser Assisted Hatching (AZH), egg & embryo freezing, and donor egg.
Working with Reproductive Genetics Innovations (RGI) and Genesis Genetics, HCR is able to offer advanced Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) for many genetic conditions, including single gene disorders and chromosomal abnormalities. It is now possible to test for some of the rarest genetic conditions, as well as the more common chromosomal problems such as those encountered by those attempting to raise a family later in life.
Additionally, Dr. Hickey is recognized as an expert in Reproductive Surgery. During his Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California (USC), he helped develop surgical methods to reduce adhesion formation during Laparoscopic surgery for Endometriosis, and received specialized instruction in Hysteroscopic surgery to correct Congenital Uterine Anomalies such as the Septate Uterus and other Mullerian Anomalies.
Over the past two decades, he has perfected these techniques as well as Advanced Hysteroscopic Surgery to treat more routine problems such as Uterine Polyps and Myomas.
