A cataract is a clouding of the normal lens of the eye.
Most cataracts develop slowly over the years. Aging is the most common cause.
Symptoms:

When a cataract interferes with someone’s usual activities, the cloudy lens can be replaced with a clear, artificial lens, with options tailored to individual needs. This is generally a safe, outpatient procedure.

The office of Michael Levine M.D. F.A.C.S. is excited to welcome Dr. James A. Fleischman M.D.
Dr. Fleischman is an Eye Physician and Surgeon who has been successfully practicing ophthalmology for more than 30 years.
Educated at Princeton University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Fleischman did his Ophthalmology Residency at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center, and did further fellowship training in the Anterior Segment of the eye at the University of Maryland. He patented an innovative design for an Intraocular Lens Implant used in cataract surgery, and he did pioneering research with the first YAG Laser in the United States for treatments after cataract surgery.
Dr. Fleischman has authored several articles in major ophthalmic journals and has lectured at a number of eye institutes around the country.
