MY Law Office would like to thank UW-Madison AAAGS and WAABA for letting us co-sponsor the discussion with Simon Tam of the Slants. It was a great event full of live music and even better discussion.
I am already reading Simon's great book, Slanted: How an Asian American Troublemaker Took on the Supreme Court. It is a great reminder that as a criminal defense attorney, I need to be continue being a troublemaker when protecting the life and liberty of my clients.
It also motivated me again to make noise as an Asian-American so we can make our voices heard. We need to break out of that stereotypical mold of being the model minority that will just try to fit in and endure. Instead, we need to fight for our rights and protect our values.
Simon and Joe, thanks for a great event! I can't wait to listen to you guys again.
For those of you who may like another chance to meet Simon, he will be back in Wisconsin giving a plenary session at the 2019 State Bar of Wisconsin's Annual Meeting and Conference held in Green Bay on June 13th and 14th. (https://www.wisbar.org/AMC/2019/Pages/default.aspx)
