Go PINK Project, which raises money for Middlesex Health Cancer Center, will still hold its annual fall fundraiser this year, but it will look very different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The goPINK Project will primarily raise money through a fundraising effort called All Quacked Up, a duck race.
Throughout the month of October, you can participate by donating to the goPINK Project as an individual or by forming a duck race team. For more information, read this press release!

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, but, unfortunately, there are often no signs of breast cancer until the cancer is more advanced and a mass is felt in the breast. That’s why getting a routine breast screening is so important—even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Breast screenings can help find cancers when they are small, and therefore more treatable, and this can result in better outcomes.

If you have ever stopped by the Court Street Firehouse you probably have noticed a Dispatcher in the Communications Center wearing their gray polo uniform shirt. This year during the month of October, as many others in public safety organizations do, our members changed the uniform up a bit and wore a shirt with pink writing and a breast cancer ribbon if they chose to show support for the fight against breast cancer. Members purchased the shirts and the extra money raised went towards a donation pool. Today we were happy to present a donation to the Middlesex Health Comprehensive Breast Center in front of our Communications Center. We are proud to support a very worthy cause close to home.
We recently updated our visitor policy. We made these changes in response to the resurgence of COVID-19 in our community. The restrictions are meant to help protect patients and staff and to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
