There is a confidential data storage project being drafted by a group for the W3 which oversees the technology we use every day on the web and internet. https://identity.foundation/confidential-storage/ Microsoft is involved, hopefully other companies like Apple, Facebook, Amazon, and Google will jump on board for a more trustworthy and private internet moving forward. These projects start off as a draft, the end goal is to be able to set this as a standard protocol.
