About

Mike Hsieh, MD, is a board certified urologist and male fertility specialist in La Jolla, California. He is currently the director of the Men’s Health Center at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), and an Associate Professor of Urology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. 
Dr. Hsieh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont, before completing his urology residency at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC. Afterward, he went on to complete his fellowship training in male reproductive medicine and microsurgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. 
Dr. Hsieh has specialist expertise in assisting those with low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, and Peyronie's disease. He also works with male infertility patients treating ejaculatory disorders, hormone imbalance, sperm production impairment, cancer, and infertility. Dr. Hsieh has helped many men with infertility issues due to genetic disorders or complications from cancer treatments. Collaborating with doctors at Moores Cancer Center, he has helped men preserve their fertility options before and after cancer treatments and allowed survivors to retain or regain their sexual function even after cancer therapies.  
Dr. Hsieh stays up-to-date with the latest medical advances and continues his studies through extensive research programs involving stem cell maturation, testosterone therapy and the aftereffects of penile prosthetic surgery. 
For the convenience of his patients, Dr. Hsieh is fluent in Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English.
