Hurricane #Delta became a major category three at 10 AM. And just twenty minutes later it became a category four!
It will stay a major hurricane through Friday. Then, perhaps, get slightly weaker once it encounters the cooler waters of the northern Gulf. A landfall by Saturday is forecast, most likely in Louisiana. If this forecast plays out, this would still be too close for comfort in Mississippi and would still bring Mississippi serious rain/wind/surge threats.
The current forecast calls for the possible worst impacts to be around landfall which will be Friday PM through Saturday AM.
Okay y'all, we're almost through this hurricane season! Delta could be a potential bad one.

These are spaghetti models for Gamma. Gamma is expected to die over the Yucatan with some of whatever is left absorbed by Delta. Models are tricked IMO and showing Gamma here when in reality it is a blend of both. Tricky setup these two I tell ya! I fell for it with the HWRF/HMON as they are doing the same. Delta is what are watching the next few days. www.spaghettimodels.com

• Move garbage cans, patio furniture and other large objects inside
• Prepare for power outages by keeping items such as flashlights and batteries on hand

• If you are evacuating, fill your vehicle’s gas tank and make sure you have enough supplies for an extended period (don’t forget medications, identification and cash)
• Avoid traveling near flowing streams and flooded areas
