We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new Orchard View location just up the road from the main Cidery. Located at 22711 Wildcat Road and normally the entrance for our Pick Your Own (which is unfortunately closed this year due to a limited apple crop), our Orchard View site features lots of room for social distancing, shaded seating under the pines, our full drinks menu, limited snacks and of course, gorgeous views of our orchard! Bring a picnic, your own chairs and blankets if you wish, and enjoy a cider while relaxing in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The Annual Orionid Meteor Shower is Coming to Montgomery County on October 20 and 21
NASA recommends viewers to watch from a remote area, away from any city lights. After getting comfy in a lawn chair or sleeping bag, watchers should be facing southeast. The shower is expected to start after 12 AM and the spectacle will last until dawn, leaving plenty of time to catch a glimpse of the meteors.
The best weather for watching meteor showers is clear skies. Unfortunately for MoCo, the National Weather Service has predicted mostly cloudy and partly cloudy weather on October 20 and 21 respectively.
The meteor shower’s name Orionid comes from its location in the sky, the Orion constellation. This constellation is home to some of the brightest stars in the night sky, making for a beautiful backdrop against the blazing meteors.
The Orionid meteor shower is no stranger to Earth. Every year as Earth revolves around the sun, it passes through debris trails from Halley’s comet. The remnants collide with Earth’s atmosphere to create the fiery nighttime show.
The Orionid meteor shower is known to be one of the fastest and most stunning showers of the year. Plummeting through the atmosphere at about 148,000 mph, these meteors can leave glowing trails behind them and burst into fireballs.
