Mindful Holistic Therapy with Lenora is a holistic counseling service in the Westside neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan, that helps women, men, adolescents, and families heal from behavioral health challenges and other issues. Founded by licensed family therapist, Lenora Jackson, LLMFT (license #4151000536), the mission of Mindful Holistic Therapy with Lenora is to create harmony between mind, body, and soul without the need for potentially harmful drugs.
Treatment at Mindful Holistic Therapy with Lenora blends traditional talk therapy with mindfulness and self-awareness techniques, healthy lifestyle choices, and complementary alternative therapies. Lenora takes the time each patient needs to feel comfortable, express themselves fully, and explore the issues and challenges they face.
She encourages individuals to consider themselves in the context of their families, and to recognize how social dynamics — including workplace stress — affects their mental health. She also helps her patients learn how to become aware of their own feelings, how those feelings affect others, and how that interplay, in turn, affects them. She helps clients develop tools and communication skills that get their needs met while simultaneously respecting the needs of others.
Because Lenora is intimately aware of how the mind and body interact with one another, she also treats the co-morbidities of stress, developmental disabilities, economic disenfranchisement, and anxiety. She specializes in helping those who’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or who’ve survived or lost a loved one to coronavirus to navigate a new and healthy life in uncertain times. She has particular compassion for and expertise in helping disabled adolescents and adults find purpose, meaning, and alignment.
As part of her commitment to helping everyone in the Detroit area get the mental health support they need, Lenora offers a free, confidential consultation to each new patient. She also is on call 24/7 in case of emergencies and crises.
