He is a distinguished past president and has been on the board of directors for eight years. He has been named distinguished Kiwanian of the year four times in the past ten years. He chairs their charter night and journal, golf outing and provides the placemats for their annual pancake breakfast. Through Kiwanis Stephan Parmett has become involved with many other non-profit organizations. He was on the board of directors of the Mineola Youth and Family Services. He is currently on the board of directors of Harbor Child Day Care, which provides daycare to over 850 children. He facilitates the fundraising for the Winthrop Hospital Pediatric Center, North Shore Autism and The Multiple Sclerosis society. Stephan Parmett also delivers Meals on Wheels and is involved with many other local and national charities. Marla Parmett for the past 30 years has been a school social worker with special needs children and is involved with many activities concerning special children. Marla participates in many fundraisers to help her students go on overnight trips, parties and the prom. One of the most unique things about our store is that people refer to us as “Cheers”.
